Lake Forest Church is partnering with Pastor Nandu Gurung and Asia’s Hope to sponsor Grace Children’s Home for orphans in Kalimpong India. LFC has supported Pastor Gurung for over ten years on a number of initiatives including Church Planting, Church Building, Pastor Training Conferences and the orphanage. Pastor Nandu currently has 29 orphan children living in his home of approximately 1,400 square feet.
Asia’s Hope is a ministry that specializes in “Providing family-based residential care for orphaned children at high risk of sexual and economic exploitation.” The organization believes that children truly are the hope of Asia and their mission is to provide family oriented homes where orphans will experience the love and life changing message of Jesus Christ, the transforming hope of all generations. You can learn more about Asia's Hope at www.asiashope.org .
Asia's Hope has reviewed the budget and living conditions at Grace Children's Home and believes there is room for improvement. As a result, we will need to increase the level or number of sponsors at Lake Forest Church. You can be a part of our mission to provide better care for these children. Sponsorships are available for $50, $100 and $150 per month. One time gifts are also appreciated. Learn more about supporting Grace Children’s Home at http://www.gchindia.org/ .
Below is a brief bio of one of the children at the orphanage written by Pastor Nandu. Remember that English is his second language, but you can get a glimpse of his passion for children in need if you continue reading or read about any of the other 28 children on the website. The website also explains the sponsorship process and current needs.
“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” Isaiah 58:10

Brief Child Biography
Aditya was brought to our home on 20th October by one of his village’s lady. She explained that his father died and his mother left him in the village alone and she was gone for more than a week. They waited her to back but didn’t return home. Later they realized she was mentally disordered and begging for herself for food on the roads. One of the lady of the village left Aditya in our home (abandoned).
His parents actually were refugees from Nepal and have no any proper address. Aditya’s father used to work at roadside construction and his mother as well. We saw the boy was innocent, helpless and looked sweet. In fact financially we were not in the position to take him in our home however we couldn’t even deny because he has nobody in this world to go to. We kept him in the home but next day we had to admit him in the hospital because he was brought sick and was suffering from blood dysentery. Today on 14th November he is discharged and he is still under doctor’s medication.
He is recovering from his sickness and he calls father to everyone who gives little love to him and calls Anu Mother. It is touching and heart breaking to see these children eating food. They are rejected and abandoned.

I recently came across your site and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
